Yogurt with granola and fruit is one of my favorite breakfasts, but I’m not a huge fan of store bought granola. It is too sweet usually and it definitely not healthy. By making my own granola, I can control how sweet it is and decide what extras I put in it. Sometimes the ingredients I use change based on what I have around the house, but here is my favorite.
3 cups instant oats
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
1/2 cup almond slivers
1/4 cup dried cranberries or cherries
1/4 cup honey
1 Tbsp cinnamon
Line a baking sheet with foil and spray with plenty of oil to make sure nothing sticks. The honey is going to get super sticky. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.
Add the oats, chocolate chips, almonds, cranberries and cinnamon to the baking sheet. Mix those ingredients together.
Drizzle the honey over the oat mixture and stir everything together really well. You’ll start seeing the oney clump the other ingredients together. The more honey you add, the more clumps you’ll get.
Bake for about 15-20 minute until the oats turn slightly golden brown. There ya go! You made granola! Why buy it when you can make it so easily just how you like it?
